Yesterday lessons ended at 9.30am for us Jc1s to prepare for this wow-so-amazing race called Edurace, which basically is just an Amazing Race spin-off ( don't know why Amazing Race is so popular and Amazing ) but has objectives to impart national education knowledge in primary and secondary students coming to my school for this wow-so-amazing race.
My class and 2 others are given this theme 'military defense', and the planning committee decided on a simple obstacle course where the competing teams will get into pairs of preferably 1 male and 1 female, and the male gets blindfolded. The female will then direct him to walk through a spiral course bounded by chairs.
And i say, my class is damn lucky to borrow a "camouflage net" which simulates an environment in a forested area. Many leaves cover 90% of the net and we acted according to classmates' simple yet brilliant idea of draping the net over the section of our booth's part of the obstacle course.
It was kinda troublesome to set this net up, but i think it paid off. I heard that before yesterday's set-up during one of the dry-runs on wednesday the teachers were damn unhappy with the booth, maybe because only the planning committee and sub-committee members are down there.
Then yesterday's last inspection while i was slacking at the side this teacher told me "Well done for setting up your booth ". ( She told me that not because i am some important figure or something, but it's because i am just standing beside her. )
Yeah, i wasn't doing much, other than for contributing muscles by helping to set-up the net and carrying 7 chairs at1 go by myself and help to move things around.
I don't really know what's wrong with me yesterday. I spoke less than 15 sentences altogether for the day ( probably because i can't hear as good as before ). I didn't really impress anyone while having the rare chance to sit in the same table during the lunch break with classmates that i didn't really interact much with in normal times.
Which reminds me of this stupid incident. I happened to queue behind my form teacher in this drink store. Then got 1 male classmate of mine said something which i can't make out. I don't understand what he says ( probably because the canteen is noisy and i am hard of hearing ) . I think, roughly in english, and piecing the sentences together he means," You came later than her ( our form teacher ) by a moment... ... treat drink/then like that."
Huh? What the heck does he mean?
I asked him again, but he just repeat the sentences which still seemed alien to my ears and mind. Then my form teacher said," EH why you so stupid one?"
Fine. Okay loh. WIn liao loh. I stupid loh.
I declined to say anything more to her.
I blame myself for not trying to guess what that classmate was saying faster. Thinking back now, i could have tried my luck to offer my form teacher a treat, to see if i got his meaning right.
But too bad i am stupid. I can't think fast. I have low eq. I need an equaliser. Damn.
Oh wait. Maybe my slow response has something to do with me sleeping late at night/midnight.
Maybe sleeping late and waking early isn't an ability that i can manage.
Ok back to the Edurace. We set our booth up quite nicely, but in the end, only 3 teams out of so many in total came to our booth, plus the guest-of-honour of the event. All other teams went to the other 2 classes.
So, during the large amount of free time, our class had some fun watching videos from youtube. Mostly russel peters and madtv comedies and also some talented contestants of britain's got talent. But i was merely just sitting at a corner being passive and not saying anything much.
Maybe i looked like i am sulking or something.
Time to change back to lame mode.
But wait, how do i change back?
How do i be more vocal? especially when people ignore what i am saying because they think i am talking no sense, things of no value and significance at all?
Currently hooked on classical Touhou music arranges from TAMusic. Seriously, they are awesome.
PROFILE
Ayayayaya ~
Touhou Fan.
Listens mostly to Touhou doujin music
(Because the creator of Touhou (ZUN) is damn talented, his BGM for the game series are godly, including the game series he made itself, and hence many dedicated groups of musicians do arranges of his original BGM)
("Arranges" are one level higher than "covers")
Very Japanese-oriented, absolutely not Korean-crazy like the crowd out there
Watches Japanese anime
Wants to do, learn and try many, many things, but finds it hard to find the time, commitment, and energy to do all of that
Life is short, and i want mine to be especially so
