Mid year exam results are back. And i am quite disappointed in it. I set high expectations, but then the thing is my effort isn't really proportional to the expectations.
On average i only spent 3 days studying for each subject of 1 and a half year of syllabus of 4 subjects during the June holidays.
I must get rid of this "student syndrome".
Had a little chat with the biology teacher, who is also my civics (form) tutor, on thursday unintentionally. I had some biology questions to ask at the end of the lesson, and after that the topic changed to her concerns for the not-so-good exam results of the class.
I am not really fond of such chats with someone my senior and with some authority as i have to be extra extra careful than usual in my words, which i usually show little restraint in.
That aside, to summarise, she was kinda at a loss as to why the class is able to answer questions properly in class tutorials but not during examinations, and wants to find out what else she can do to help the class.
Not that i have any brilliant ideas in mind anyway. Study smartly and listen attentively in tutorials loh.
Lol i am able to say that but i don't really practise what i preach.
Well anyway i guess that chat has made me more mature for a bit in terms of motivation to study. So it's good in one way or another.
Singapore's (or Cambridge's, it's causing us problems) education system might need to change. It doesn't have to be that stubborn and rigid.
(On a side note, I don't get why in gp comprehension answers we have to rephrase the words from the passage if we wanna use it as part of our answer even though the question did not state "use in your own words" unlike other questions. If this is the case, what's the point of even putting "use in your own words" in some questions since we have to rephrase for every single question? Either that or my college kay kiang go request for it to waste time.)
But the public is ignorant, we need some sort of proof (paper qualifications) to show them we might have what it takes more than others for the job.
The part where paper qualifications are a proof might be a little insignificant in the future i think, but my stand that the public is ignorant won't change. Besides, isn't it taught in economics that they don't know what good is good for them?
Plus, i have some complains about them judging students (long, dyed or untidy hair, and "public showing of affection" etc) but i won't elaborate.
Currently hooked on classical Touhou music arranges from TAMusic. Seriously, they are awesome.

("Arranges" are one level higher than "covers")
Very Japanese-oriented, absolutely not Korean-crazy like the crowd out there
Watches Japanese anime
Wants to do, learn and try many, many things, but finds it hard to find the time, commitment, and energy to do all of that
Life is short, and i want mine to be especially so
